When you look back, it is funny how attitudes change on things. I suppose that even the cave-dwellers were affected by this, as the weather becomes less important once you have an animal skin hung over the cave opening. But as I look at the various blogs that are on the internet, I notice lots of them have images. And the way most of those images were created was by using digital cameras to take the picture in the first place. But just before that was common, we had scanners, and can still scan older printed images into digital formats. This has probably changed the camera industry as much as digital watches using a crystal to keep accurate time have influenced the clock and watch industry.
