Snow???????
Yes! we did have snow last Friday! I was confused there for awhile. I thought it was spring already. With all the flowers and stuff. Well, this was taken by Arvin on our way to my folks house last Friday. I knew it was a little chilly when we get in the car, but I didn't expect this scene. We didn't have snow here, it was actually quite amazing when I was driving and saw some cars coming from the opposite direction were covered with snow. And a few minutes later, we have this! Well, Arvin had fun taking photos while I was driving.... hope this is it for this season!

Home Security And Insurance

It is great to find a website that gets straight to the point, just like those of a few years ago, before all the fancy javascript stuff was possible.
Homesecurityinformation.com does just that. It has a wealth of information about the subject of home security and also of related subjects, such as home insurance. In fact, there is a whole page of home insurance articles listed as well as a worthwhile amount of information about fire safety and similar things. Surveillance, should you choose to go that route is another featured subject - remember too, that if you add security features to your home, you might be able to apply for discounts on your home insurance, depending on the company. Car security to is featured, with advice on parking options, and other things that we generally never think about, but should!

Crap...
I was planning to be outside today. I was busy cleaning up inside and washing clothes and wasn't aware of the weather for today. If I have known that it's gonna rain,(actually gloomy and showery) I would have done the outside first yesterday- raking, weeding, etc. Oh well, I'll do it next time again. At least I am a little relieved I have done most of my inside chores yesterday. I guess, I can relax for awhile until next weekend I'll have...

Repairing Your Credit Rating

Problems can occur if you have made some bad financial judgments or errors in banking in the past and so have ended up with slow or bad credit. In that case, it might be a good idea to give financial priority to getting your credit back into good shape, and this can be done by careful use of bad credit loans - the key being, of course, to make sure you look after the repayments properly, and this in turn will assist you in getting your credit rating back into good standing. Even easier than loans is to obtain bad credit credit cards these might require a deposit, but the deposited money then becomes available for 'borrowing' on the credit card. The whole key is to re-establish that you are a good, on-time, consistent re-payer.

Canned foods
I always buy canned goods for those times when I am in a hurry. They are quick and less messy to prepare especially vegetables. Is canned veggies healthier than 'fresh'?---i read that it is sometimes true! Tomatoes, spinach & corn canned right at harvest are more nutritious than 'fresh' vegetables that have been sitting in your refrigerator for a week! The longer produce is exposed to oxygen, the fewer nutrients it has.....so, i guess, i will stack on more canned veggies from now on:)

Cool Gadgets and Toys - I bookmarked this site, it is so great
At Last! I can stop some of the whining that my Hubby is famous for. He has been ranting on lately about how the people who make cellphones are what he describes as 'morons' because they make them so small that the buttons are hard to press.
Well, I can't resolve the problem with cellphones, but I can do something about his other favorite current whining, the one where our son, Arvin, pushes the remote down between the sofa cushions as he fidgets while watching TV. At Vat19 they have lots of cool stuff for sale, including a jumbo remote control so what a great idea that is, yet so easy to think of. Lots off people are irritated by things in life, but up until now, no-one does anything about it, so, top marks to vat19.com - speaking of which, they have cool toys as well, for small boys as well as big babies like my hubby. How about this radio controlled model forklift truck for some good fun. The great thing is that it doesn't look weird like small racing cars, as the speed looks like it is to scale.

Enjoying my weekend
...well, not totally! Has been cleaning up and doing the laundry since yesterday. I just quit my job and now I am doing my own business with my family here. And yes, it was scary to do but a lot of people had inspire me to do this. Well, it's too late to back out now. I just started a contract. It's pretty good so far. I work 2 days a week and make the same money as I was working for 5 days. So for now, I have plenty of time until I get greedy and take a lot of contract, LOL..

Contemporary Furniture for My New Apartment?
As my business expands, I might well decide to rent an apartment 'in town', that is, in the city where my business interests are located. Right now we are about 60 miles away from it, so it doesn't seem that crazy once you look at the gas prices. Then there is the commuting time. And it would solve the banter to-and-fro that I have with Hubby about the house - he likes it the way it is, and wants to spend nothing on it, and I like more modern stuff. With an apartment, I get to furnish it out from scratch. I can choose the furniture myself without interference, and believe me, it will be Contemporary Furniture - this is my chance to do as I please!

Office Furniture for My New Business
Now that I have started my own business, the room that we have downstairs in the basement can become an office. The advantage of having an office in the home is that I can then charge it against tax. Most of my work these days seems to be related to my business anyway, so it will be nice to set this computer up in a setting with a padded swivel chair, and on a proper desk rather than where it is now, which quite frankly, is in the way of things. I am not likely to be having clients coming into the office, but when I reach the point where this might be part of what my business is doing, then it will be great to have the office furniture that will form a good professional first impression.

Contemporary Sofas
I have often thought that it would be nice to have rooms with decor and furnishings like they show in magazines, and when thinking that, I have immediately ruled out any possibility of it actually ever happening, as I have never seen contemporary furniture such as this in any other settings, except perhaps at home related exhibitions. But that all changes when we go to spacify.com - I've mentioned this online store before, and with good reason. They have a good range of items and when it comes to sofas, for instance, the selection is good, but more particularly, the designs are well above the ordinary. Of course, my own problem of space looms once more. I was at one point thinking of a modern leather sofa, but now I am thinking that maybe if I can get the TV recessed to free up more floor space, then I might go for a corner set, as it can be incorporated into the room to give a nice cozy effect.

Had a blast last weekend on the Gary V's concert at WTCC here. The ticket was my sister's gift for me. It was really worth it! We were lucky to see him performed so close. Gary V is the first Filipino artist to visit us here, so I was so happy to be able to support him..you can check some of the photos here, and here's one of the video I took......I love this one, and it's so true!

Contemporary Furniture
As I mentioned in the tag post entry that I made a few days ago, I have just changed my job, and so now I will be rushing around a bit more, and will hopefully have some spare money to get some proper furniture for the house so that during the time I am home I can relax properly. My Hubby generally likes older furniture styles as a general thing, but there are some modern furniture styles that he thinks are great. For me, old means junk, and I can't wait to get rid of it. So, I must be an antique dealers dream! Anyway, the time will soon come to redo the furniture in the house, and this time I want to buy it all as a set, so that the overall appearance will be a matching decor. Soon, too, Hubby will have run out of excuses as to why he cannot redcorate the living room and kitchen. So, I figure that I will first of all select the furniture, and then get Hubby to work on the decorating.

Bedroom Furniture
It is OK, I suppose, to have the thinking that there is no point in having good bedroom furniture, as we are sleeping most of the time we are in the bedroom. But if you actually take notice, you will find that you are in the bedroom during the day quite a lot too, especially if you have smaller house like mine, and the bedroom is on the same level as the rest of the rooms. For years now, I have made do with some old pieces of furniture we picked up as separate items, as my Hubbies son needed the furniture at the old house when he took it over, and we just needed some quickly chosen items. So, after, what's this, over ten years now at this house, we are due to get a better, matching, bedroom furniture set. So, I took a look at my fave online store, spacify.com and sure enough, they have a good selection of bedroom suites. Now all I have to do is to be careful to choose one that is small enough to fit in OK.

contemporary kids furniture
One of the things we forget once we are adults is the inconvenience of being small in size, unless we are small in size, of course! I am talking about being child size. For instance, when we sit on a chair, our legs will hang, and the chair edge presses into the back of our knees.
Kids need furniture to be a proper size for them, if the furniture is solely for them, after all, why not give them a break, as there are plenty of times that they have to use full-size furniture because child size furniture is not available. At spacify.com they have a good selection of contemporary kids furniture. It ranges from just the basic kids furniture to specialized furniture items that are designed to be convenient for the parents, as much as it is for the kids themselves, such as high chairs, and specially sized kids bedding as well as toy storage items.

Here in the city
I like living in the city. I walk a lot here and not get bored with it. A lot of people, including hubby, hates the city because of it's reputation, crime and whatnot. But I don't think it's that bad here. It's not too crowded here as people would think. i've been to places a lot crowded than here. What I like about this city is, it's actually not too big, just enough to call it a city. Anyways, I like to think that I can stay here for most of the weekdays and still have the option of going back to a much quieter place on the weekend.

Blanco Sinks For My Kitchen
It is time to start nagging Hubby again. He fitted some new faucets in both the bathroom, and the kitchen a couple of years ago, and they both drip slightly! So, I guess he shouldn't try to be a plumber. Now, the thing that has just inspired me to think about sinks and faucets is the website at faucet.com where they have a great selection of Blanco sinks as a promotion right now. I like the idea Blanco have in the picture on the webpage, where the whole kitchen sink area is sunken down an inch or so - might be great for stopping the water from spilling around on the counter-top. I also like the idea of having the second smaller sink - with our small house, there might not be room for a full double sink, but the smaller size second sink might just fit the space I have, and leave plenty of counter-top space still available for working at.

My Hubby Is Not A Plumber
I mentioned before that my Hubby, not being a plumber, has made the faucet areas in both the bathroom and the kitchen into areas where a small catch-can is needed to stop the floors from flooding! He blames me by saying that I should never have considered buying those cheap faucets, as they are difficult to connect to the piping of the house. He always has an answer!! And, being a husband, is always wrong.
But there is a way to get the problem solved, and that is by simply replacing the faucets again, as I have to admit (but not to Hubby!) that the current ones that were so cheap are really poor looking after only a couple of years, I think it has been. I will start with the faucet set in the bathroom, as I am planning a new sink as well. And, in case you are wondering, yes, I will get a proper plumber to install them!

Home Security And Alarms
I tend to think that we would never really need an alarm system fitted to our house, and I hope that I am right. I do though get times when I worry while I am absent, although the neighbors are very watchful. At the same time, if we see someone around a neighbors house we do tend to assume that it is a proper visitor. Safemart.com currently have a great deal on ademco
alarms and you can even watch a small video right there from the website. The package is very affordable, and there are good details right at the website, which is set up to allow easy online shopping.

My typical day
A got this tag from cousin Jinky, who will be getting married really, really soon. I haven't even talk to her yet. I know she is really busy now preparing for her wedding. Wish we could be there to witness it, but unfortunately, my financial resources here won't allow it. So hanggang "congrats" na lang muna kami dito.....So for you cuz: "Congrats from all of us here, wishing you all the best!"....anyways, with all the craziness of preparing for her wedding, she still got a little bit of time to blog and here is her tag for me:

What do you do? turn on my pc and check for emails, munch left overs from the fridge.

Dinner: When and what? no specific time. normally formal dinners happen on the weekend and it's normally roasts or something similar, anything that i can prepare using oven.

Great Furniture is Available Online
Do you ever feel like just putting all your furniture out by the street for 'spring pick-up of heavy objects', and go out and buy new stuff that all works properly, isn't scratched, and can be chosen to match a new colored decor for the room in question? My Hubby goes nuts when I talk like that, because he is a hoarder. If he had his way, we would still be watching the old TV he had 11 years ago when I married him, and that needed someone to get up once in a while and turn the tuner switch slightly to bring back the channel.
But, there is a mid-point somewhere, where I can get the new stuff I want, and he won't feel that his whole life is being thrown away. Spacify.com have an interesting coffee table on their homepage, it looks like it is made of red tinted glass for the top, and maybe white colored wood for the leg part. They really do have a great selection of furniture online. And as for the old teak coffee table we have now, it could become part of the basement rec room furniture (until I get a good replacement for that as well!)

Outdoor Furniture For Summer
Many of us no doubt have tried using the regular styles of outdoor furniture. I have used this for the past two years, and I have to admit that last year, it was a bit of a stretch as far as any expectation that it would look good. One of the problems is that often, this furniture is where guests go when they do their visiting in summer, so I think it is important to have respectable looking outdoor furniture. There is also another aspect to this, and that is that the outdoor furniture is used on days when I can relax, and it makes it harder to relax if I am sitting on a chair that is about the same quality as a cardboard box! I know that I shouldn't feel that way, but as I sit there, I just feel a need to jump up and start painting the chair instead of sitting in it. Drives my Hubby crazy, but then, he would be happy with the cardboard box, maybe.
Spacify.com have a good choice of outdoor furniture, including outdoor wood furniture, outdoor metal furniture, and even wicker outdoor furniture. They even have some great little firepits that can be used even on a wooden deck, and of course there are always the chairs and hammocks that make for a comfortable summer.

Weight Loss Pills Reduce Appetite
Weight loss pills can be the way to go when trying to achieve weight loss. Extra weight is generally caused by eating habits, and certainly is not a requirement of good general health. I find that there are many temptations in the way of foods, some of which are famous for being fattening, so it is good to know that weight loss pills exist that can reduce appetite, and therefore food intake. It is just a case of balancing appetite against calories actually needed by the body, and remember, a slower weight loss is generally easier to maintain than a quick one.

Rolex Watches Maintain Investment Value
Rolex, now, there is a name that reeks of quality, in keeping with Rolls-Royce, or Faberge. Essentialwatches.com have a great selection of Rolex watches, I actually was just looking at the website with Hubby, and he chose the one he liked, and it was $18,000 ! Now, I didn't rule it out right away, after all, we could sell the house, but seriously, there are lower cost options shown as well as the higher-end ones, with some of the 'lighter' looking models being within my own pocket, just a few thousand. I almost spend that on coffee-to-go in a year. John has often mentioned Rolex because they are a favorite with the yacht sailing crowd, in fact, Rolex are sponsors of ocean racing events. This used Rolex idea is a great way to get into a quality item that has investment value as well.

Magnifiers Ease Eye Strain
Magnifiers - After watching my Hubby mess around finding his glasses all the time, I know that he will be interested to see the website I found, firststreetonline.com , that has magnifiers for sale. It is always, obviously, so much easier to look at something that appears to be big, especially as we get older, and our eyesight gets worse than it was when we were younger, and right now, his is worse than it was even a year ago. So, I guess the only decision to make as we age is whether to get glasses that magnify, or go for another type or model of magnifier, and FirstStreet has them all.

Drug rehab is a difficult process for most patients, as it involves the actual substance abuse, plus the psychological effects both for the patient, and for those close to the patient. So, it is good to find a drug rehab center that has the expertise to make the right drug treatment moves as well as general care moves and decisions at the right times in the rehabilitation process.
The website homepage speaks for itself, and is well worth looking at to see all the aspects that can be of assistance to all those affected.

Bedroom Furniture Online
During winter months, the bedrooms don't get as aired out as I would prefer them to. So, now summer is starting, I can turn mattresses, and while I am at it, look at some quick redecorating, just to really freshen things up a bit. Our house here is really quite small, "big enough to live in, small enough to be cheap to heat," is what Hubby always says. I am actually looking around for some new bedroom furniture to really make a difference, and I was already at spacify.com looking at their outdoor furniture, when I saw that they really cover a lot of other things, including, guess what, bedroom furniture!
Hubby likes the black colored furniture that is shown but I think that the dark color will maybe make the bedroom look smaller, so I am persuading him to go with the white, or maybe they have a beige, if so, that would be great, too. I still have to really get into the website, as I originally only found the bedroom furniture in passing. Anyway, plenty of time, I am currently concentrating on the garden, but the bedroom might well get done as the next project.

Getting better
Lil sis is getting better with her driving now. She's been driving my Jeep last week. She should be ready in time for the summer. She's looking forward to be driving on her own. Driving is one the things you have learn here. I am hoping she will have lots of more practice this week. Maybe hubby will let her drive the standard car this time. It's always nice to learn how to drive on both cars.

Her first birthday
Lil sis celebrated her first birthday here in Canada last month. I made sure that it was a memorable first birthday here so I prepared something for her. We had a little feast at the apartment together with the rest of the family. She was so happy blowing her ice cream cake candle, hope her wish will come true. Later on, her friends came and visited here and had another celebration....

Innovative Concept of Floor Seating
I have been looking at my rather small living room, and trying to decide how to proceed with some decor changes. My Hubby laid some hardwood parquet flooring a few years ago now, and we really have been way too sloppy in not taking full advantage of that.
So, I figure that I will build on the flooring already there, and go with designer rugs, which are definitely a cut above the regular decorative rugs we have been using for a while, although at one point I did try a tufted rug and that looked pretty good until I changed the furniture.
I have been looking at a website called Spacify, at spacify.com, and they have a really good selection of some more artistic modern rugs, as well as some great pictures of their furniture, which helps with rug selection, as well as giving me ideas for contemporary furniture combinations and pairings that might suit the room size that I have, especially relative to the seating arrangements.

The Great Thing About A Backshift
The great thing about a backshift (midnight to 8am) week is that it ends, and I have the feeling that I have a long weekend, as I finish at 8am Friday, and don't have to be back until 4pm Monday, unless of course they force me to work overtime on Saturday. So, right now, I have just woken up, and have to rush off to get the shift over with. But, the main thing that is great about a backshift is that in the morning, it ends!

Comparing Online Car Insurance Quotes
A few months ago, when my Jeep got hit by another car, I was really glad that we had full insurance coverage on it, even though John had made the monthly premium lower by increasing the deductible to $500. Because the accident was the other drivers fault, his insurance company paid for the rental car, so all we were left with was the bill for the extra rental car coverage. John made sure we had that, because he said that it would be absolutely typical luck if we had an accident while renting the car. car insurance is really important to have, and although we complain about the cost, it really isn't that much, when you consider that the repair costs for my Jeep were over $2000. Then there was the week-plus long car rental on top of that. And that was for an accident where there was no injury involved. Imagine getting the some situation occurring and having legal billing to add to the costs, because of getting sued, if it had been my mistake that caused the accident. Just a simple lawyers visit could easily put it way over what I would want to pay, considering that it would be an unexpected expense which generally means 'credit card' so there would be interest charges added to the cost as well. 2insure4less.com is a website that has the capability to make comparisons of online quotes, saving you time, and then when you take out the insurance, saving you money.

Climbing Out Of Debt - Here's How.
Those of us who struggle with our finances, or have had problems managing our finances in the past, can get assistance that is constructive in helping the climb up out of debt, or at least to a reasonable point where the debt load is more manageable. 3debtconsolidation.com are a debt counseling agency that can set you up with a situation where you are first of all, more comfortable financially, and part of this comfort is by having the payment demand phone calls stop completely.
Unsecured debt generally has a higher rate of interest than secured debt, and many people with payment problems are falling further behind each month, as they try to juggle the finances yet because of the places where the debt is owed, the interest charges each month are effectively stifling any constructive plan to climb out of debt, as possibly the first criteria in a debt situation is that you have to remain able to live and work while you take action to reduce the debt. The key is a properly thought out and managed consolidation plan that will provide steady debt reduction each month, and will have an end goal that is achievable.
My Hubby told me that some years ago, before we were married, he checked all his bills and payments, and found that he was paying about $400 in interest charges alone each month, so once he was aware what the problem was, he was able to put into place a debt consolidation plan to handle the debts, which put the total into one amount owed that was held by a reputable lender with more realistic interest rates, and this put his interest per month down to around $200 a month at the time. This in turn gave him a further $100 available to pay down the capital, and he still came out reducing his outgoings per month by $100, bringing his personal budget into a range where his income could afford to sustain things for him. Remember, it is not the amount of debt that you have that is the problem, it is your method of handling money and debt that has to be adjusted to give you a better lifestyle that is fully sustainable, and where your debt load is actually decreasing each month that goes by, and that is where 3debtconsolidation.com can help and advise.

RRROLLLL!
I love Tim Horton's coffee. I do have them at least once a day. One location is on my way to work, so I am now used to stopping by there almost everyday. I have rolled the rim and I have won free coffees and donuts so far. Someone at work won a GPS and $50 Tim card. It would be nice to win the car or the boat at least. Anyways, winning of not, I still enjoy my cup of coffee.

So sweet

There are some occasions when I am really in bad mood that I stamp around the house while doing my chores. It doesn't occur often, but if it does, hubby and my son are scared of me, LOL...the other day was no exception. I was calling/shouting to my son while telling him to do this and do that. He obliged with fear of course. I am not sure what has got into me, maybe it was the messy house and the pile up of things in my mind that I haven't done. It does stresses me out when there's something to be done and I keep pushing it on one side. Anyways, after all that, I received this paper flower my son gave me. It reads:" to mom, from Arvin.....mom, you're so demanding today. Thanks for trying. Today you never said 'please' to me....I love you mom! and don't forget that!... It just melts my heart when I realized that I was really being mean to him and it's not his fault that I am stressed out.
