Creative

Theme: CREATIVE
I chose this photo for toady's photo hunt, creative. I find this statue very creative as I never seen this anywhere else. This is a carved statue made from a maple tree. The town here had this different kind of carved statue all over the place made from maple tree. So whenever you see this statues in every street of the town, you know that you are here where I live!!!

Be your own boss!
I have always been dreaming of owning my own business. I know it's a hard work and requires a lot of hours to set up, but once going, I could be enjoying my time whenever I want. That's one of the beauty of owning a business! Hubby had been talking about owning one too. He has been working for companies ever since he can remember, now that he's almost done working, he's thinking of owning a little business to keep himself busy and motivated. There are ways actually that would get that dream once step closer to reality. And that's multivend! A vending machine business! Having a business like this would get you started as part time and still keep your regular job and pay check. You can just continue to expand until your part time vending machine pays you more that your full time job! Sounds exciting? The beauty of this kind of business is, there's no personal selling required. It does all the selling for you. Isn't it the smart way to do business? These machines are always there, making money for you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, never late for work nor get sick!

Let's Eat!

Here's my take on today's challenge: It's all about food...
1. Are there any weird "food rules" you have? Feel free to list as many as you like.
--I really don't have any "food rules" but I have to admit, I still must have patis(fish sauce) when I am eating anything meaty.
2. When you were growing up, what ONE thing did your parents always remind you of, when it came to meal time (or cooking)?
--To give grace.
3. Is there anyone you know whose food you won't eat (for one reason or another)?
--My hubby can't eat fish with it's head on. he doesn't wanna eat anything that seems like it's staring at him.
4. Is there anything you "specialize" in cooking, that people actually ask for?
--Waaaa, nothing really, to be honest. I am not a good cook. I enjoy eating, not cooking:)
5. When you were growing up, what one meal do you remember as being your favorite?
--Rice and fish meal. Actually, it's still is.
6. Today, what is your IDEAL meal?
--would be, rice and fish with tomatoes and fish sauce, hehehe

Tiny

Theme: TINY

This is my take for today's photohunt, Tiny! Arvin looked so small when he tried to climbed up this hillshide of the Victoria Park.

Swimming
Another beautiful day here for swimming in the pool! Arvin really had fun together with his friend, Todd. There's no place like pool in the heat of the summer! Can't seem to have enough water fun when the school is out and the kids had nothing to do. Arvin is really dark now with sun beating on his skin. If he's not out swimming in the pool, he's out biking! which is really good anyways, as supposed to just playing inside with his xbox or pc games.

Monday Madness
Oh my! I am late. I worked back shift last night and i forgot about this!

I am joining Monday Madness to keep me busy every monday and hope I can keep up with it. Each monday, Otto will posts 3 or more questions and you can just grab them and answer them. Leave a message on her site that you did them and check out others who participated also. Here's my first take on this madness!

1. Do you feel that children these days are disciplined enough?
** I think it depends entirely on the family. I am not sure if there's such a thing as disciplined enough. I think kids will test a parent's weakness and it's up to the parents on how they portray themselves to the child. Most of the children I know, especially here in the western side of the world, take charges of the house, which is not really good.

2. What are your thoughts about the "time out chair?"
** I have never used "time out" to my son ever yet. I don't repeat whatever i wanna say to my son, so there's no need for time outs:)

3. When YOU were a child, what form of discipline did your parents use most often?
** I was brought up in the Philippines, and I fear the voice of my dad, especially.

4. Did your parents have to constantly remind you of the guidelines they set for you, or did they just have to LOOK at you as a "gentle" reminder?
** haha.. it's always been the look! that's all it took. I can't remember my dad(especially, again) saying, "i'm telling you for the last time....!" thing. His first time was always the last time, or you better watch out! hahaha..

5. What are your thoughts about screaming kids in public places?
** I think, it's the parents to be blame on this. I know it's hard to handle kids like this. I have seen parents with kids who just scream in public places. Most of them are overtired, so i think, that's one clue that these kids are impatient. But if the child always take over, I think the parents are not handling them properly.

6. What do you feel is the BIGGEST mistake parents make when it comes to disciplining children?
** i think, being Consistent. Consistent in what you say and do. And also, parents should act like a team in front of the child. Don't shout or fight at each other in front of the child. This gives the child the mind set that the other parent is better than the other one:) Even if you think your partner is wrong, always support her/him and when the child is gone, that's the time to confront her/him, never in front of the child^-^

Canada Day
We went out again to see the fireworks last Sunday. We were bored waiting for the dusk before gong out so we decided to go out early afternoon. We went to town to catch the mall, but it was too late, the door has just about to shut down when we arrived. So we drove around town and decided to go to the park and go for a walk. Another gorgeous day here. Perfect to have some fun! check out the video i made here:)

The Police celebrate the 30th anniversary of their recording debut with a new double-CD collection, entitled The Police (A&M/UMe). This 28-song set brings together the biggest hits from the band's five original studio albums, as they embark on a worldwide tour.

Now, here's your chance to win a trip to New York and see The Police live!!!!
Please click on this photo to go and view an awesome banner where you can watch The Police's videos, listen to tracks from The Police's new 2 cd hits collection, enter to win a trip to NYC to see The Police in concert and even view details about their current world tour.

I was so excited that they're back. John keep talking about them. They are one of the most innovative and influential bands in rock & roll!!
They have sold an excess of 50 million albums worldwide. They had already proven that they were the first band to fully integrate the no-nonsense approach of punk rock and the spirit-moving positive energy of reggae, which I love!
They have released the 28-songs 2 disc compilation CD last June 5th with a huge success and brought together the biggest hits from the band's five original studio albums and includes their very first single, 1977's 'Fall Out'. A vintage poster will be included if you purchased their CD. here;s the track listings of the Police Cd

Beach Time!
What a gorgeous day it was....another beautiful day that we spent it on the beach. It was quite chilling though but that didn't stop Richard and Arvin to swim to the frigid water. Mom and Dad, together with John, surrendered after taking some photos. They went to the car while we were enjoying the water. Of course, my role was only their photographer!

Big Opp!
My brother had made it at last! I have been hoping and praying that one of my siblings could join me here. I am so lucky to have both of them here. Now they will have a lot of big opportunities waiting for them. One of the options we are looking at is for my bro to go to work here while going back to school to have the chance to get a decent job. I think, this is the best way to get yourself out there, to get ahead of other and give yourself a chance for a much better career.Of course, it won't be that easy but a lot of people are still doing it and succeeded. All we need is determination and will. Since he doesn't know a lot yet and pretty new to the country, I am really encouraging him to at least try and get continuing education by either going to school while working or even doing the study online. It would be a great opportunity for him and I'm sure he'll thank me in the future.

arvin's recognition
We went to Arvin's recognition last week...it was quite an interesting event. I was really proud of my son finishing 6th grade. He went to the "big school" the other day, open house/tour for the grade six's. Their chance of checking out their new environment comes September! He was a bit scared and reluctant to go in at first as I dropped him by the big entrance door. He forgot to make arrangements with his classmates to go in together. I offered to go with him but he refused:) Doesn't wanna go in with his mommy! hehehhe..it was so cute. I saw him asking 'bigger' kids where the assembly is and then he winked at me and waved goodbye. And off he goes! Men, that was heart-breaking. I can't believed he's going to be in junior high....check out the photos we took from his recognition here:)
