Online schools
If you are looking to further your studies, online schools might be the best way to go. I know how hard it is to decide between staying at work to pay bills and stopping work to go back to school. I know you can't just do that because bills are just there knocking on your door all the time. But if you could just keep your work and still go to school, then that would be the best way you could position yourself. Check out capella university. It's one of the best online schools you could find. Founded in 1993, Capella University is an accredited, fully online university that offers graduate degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, and psychology, and bachelor’s degree programs in business and information technology.

POTC

Decided to watch Pirates of the Caribbean-at world's end today. I was fascinated about this. My brother had been talking about this way even before it showed on theater, so finally, i watched it today. I didn't find it so thrilling, really. I love the first one to be honest, but hey! that's just me. I am not sure if it's because I am expecting a lot from this movie, coz my bro just love it. But like I said, I prefer the first one:)

Anywho, here's a trailer I found at Youtube:)

Shades for your homes
I have been using blinds for my windows since we moved here. I love the clean look it gives. With a young kid at home running around, curtains are not a good thing. I don't have a big house neither, so using blinds for windows best suits my home. I kinda look at the blinds I have right now, and I think it's time for a make-over. I have been taking good care of them, but I have thinking of new colours to compliment my stuff around the house.

There are a lot of shades to choose from nowadays. I found this site that guarantees their product. I am thinking of using single-cell shades . They are best suited in my living room. I have a small living room, and i think these will fit there. These shades filter out all but the softest light, that means it will blocked nearly 100% of UV rays. What I like about this is it can be motorized!

But still, if you guys are trying to re-do your window treatment, guaranteedblinds.com can give you tips and advice from their experts. They also give free samples so you can truly decides the right fabric or texture for your living room, bedroom, kitchen or anywhere in your home.

Synchronized Us
I often wonder if it's true. I have not known this phenomenon existed until I got here. Women, living in the same house, will eventually have synchronized menstruation? I googled this and found this findings:

Primitive cues synchronize menstruation
Q: Why do women and girls living together for extended periods have synchronized menstruation? --Douglas Laing, Cali, Columbia

A: Women (and men) secrete odorless molecules, called pheromones, in a manner as common as sweating. In fact, the sweat of many mammals contains pheromone chemicals. The molecules from one woman bounce and jiggle their way airborne and waft to another. Receptors in the nose detect the pheromones and the second woman responds by shortening or lengthening her menstrual period. Gradually, over the course of a few months, the periods of all the women living together synchronize in this way.

[Lund U. Sweden, Peter Valeur] A female moth's pheromones caught in a male's antenna

A study (that determined all this by Martha McClintock and Kathleen Stern) indicates the sweat probably contains two chemicals: one that lengthens menstrual cycles and one that shortens them. The two substances can act together to synchronize the cycles and sometimes to disrupt them.

By the way, similar studies show that men's pheromones also affect women's menstrual periods. Women respond to these pheromones by shortening their periods and having them more regularly.

Hubby also have this theory that these women will synchronized overtime to compete with each other. As human beings, we are "programmed" to propagate, thus, these women will tend to make themselves available to bear kids at the same time.True or not true??? All I know is, hubby will now have to keep away from, not just me, but away from my sister too as both of us now are sync! Watch out hubby, 2 women with PMS on the house!!! hahahaha

Need Credit card?
Here's a credit card that offers not just one 0% but three! isn't it a big savings? you'll get
0% on puchases until jan 08.

Do you know what those means? that means a lot of savings! Some credit card offer only give you one of the three. So if you have credit cards that are charging you tons of interests, then transfer your balance to Mint Credit Cards. They also offers a card with an attractive introductory offer and have recently lowered their typical APR.

NO POINTING FINGERS

A man asked his father-in-law, "Many people praised you for a successful marriage. Could you please share with me your secret?"

The father-in-law answered in a smile, "Never criticize your wife for her shortcomings or when she does something wrong. Always bear in mind that because of her shortcomings and weaknesses, she could not find a better husband than you."

We all look forward to being loved and respected. Many people are afraid of losing face. Generally, when a person makes a mistake, he would look around to find a scapegoat to point the finger at. This is the start of a war. We should always remember that when we point one finger at a person, the other four fingers are pointing at ourselves.

If we forgive the others, others will ignore our mistake too.

LOANS
In today's world, almost all of us has engaged in some sort of borrowing money for personal or business reasons. When I first came to this country, hubby suggested that I should build my name with the credit bureau asap. In a country like this, your credit is a valuable asset you have in order to survive. It is very important to establish your name so you could live in a situation where you have something you could lean on, just in case. Of course, you should be as responsible as you could be. Getting personal loans is not just for you to get money and spend. It's money that you will be paying back. So it is important to know what you are doing. Don't spend money if you can't pay it back. I have applied for personal loan the first time and in as short as 1 year, I have a good rating that I could borrow money from most financial institution.

TRUST

TRUST is a very important factor for all relationships. When trust is broken, it is the end of the relationship. Lack of trust leads to suspicion, suspicion generates anger, anger causes enmity and enmity may result in separation.

A female telephone operator received a phone call one day. She answered, "Public Utilities Board." There was silence. She repeated, "PUB." There was still no answer. When she was going to cut off the line, she heard a lady's voice, "Oh, so this is PUB.Sorry, I got the number from my husband's pocket but I do not know whose number it is." Without mutual trust, just imagine what will happen to the couple if the telephone operator answered with just "hello" instead of "PUB".

Todays ramblings...
Well, today was a really nice and 'take-it-easy' day for me. I was going to mow the lawn because I thought it's gonna be nice outside. But it was cloudy and I was freezing inside the house. So I spent my morning in front of the pc and watching tv. I was hoping that the new computer will be here today but it didn't come. I checked online to track it and it says it's in the assembly line already, and the next step is shipping. It's a one-day delivery so it could be here tomorrow(crossing my fingers^-^)...Well, I was getting bored and my back was getting tired on sitting and I wanted to get some fresh air. I have an envelop to post so I thought I will ask sistah to bike with me to the post office. But she was also cold, so we decided we will just go to the mall and post my mail on the way. And that's what we did:)

DVR

Digital Video Recorder(DVR) is an innovative technology that gives you extraordinary power to record, pause, rewind, and fast forward programs! So you are in total control of what you watch, and when you watch it. It's an exciting and valuable addition to any home. Well, this is what I have been using to record my favourite shows so I can watch it the next day especially if I work night shift. It has been a really good treat for us, even to Arvin where he records his fav cartoon shows and watch it when there is nothing else to watch. Last night I recorded American Idol. I was at home and can watch it anyways, but I figured I'll let it record and watch it this morning. All was fine and I went through the show skipping all the annoying adds and some annoying performances:)All I really wanted was to see the end...well, what the do you know? at the last 10 minutes of the show, it got cut off??It must have lapse the time allotted on the show and my DVR cuts it off at exactly 11pm.It just annoyed me so much when I thought I could watch the very end of it. So until now I still don't know who won last night!

Pursuing Education
Always been thinking of going back to school, it's nice to get up in the morning and not dragging yourself because you hate your work. There are a lot of courses around but the problem is, you can't just quit your job and go to school at the same time. A lot of people said I can do it. But with my monthly bills coming in, it's just not that easy. But someday, I would always say. Another thing I was thinking is going to this online college school. It's probably my best option right now because I could just do it afterwork without living my house. It's the famous trend right now and I have seen people doing it and succeeded. This school offers graduate degree programs in a lot of fields. It is committed to providing high-caliber academic excellence and pursuing balanced business growth and it's fully accredited.

Excitement today...
I was so excited when I saw the Purolator truck drove into my driveway this morning. I was thinking this is the computer I ordered monday. I called John in the washroom to go and check it out.LOL...It is always so exciting to meet the parcel guy, don't even wanna let him knock the door. John was busy, so I met the guy outside even before he could open his door. I wore my 'infectious' smile and said my good morning. To my dismay he picked up a small box. The computer I ordered couldn't be that small! He handed it to me and left. John came out and ask me where's the rest of the stuff? I said, 'that's it!' hehehe...well, we opened it and this is all we got!:

The rest of the computer might be delayed because it's customized...

Vacation plans?
I had been dreaming of taking my son to Orlando, Florida. Why? It's the well-known home of Walt Disney World!!!I promised him I'll take him someday no matter how old he's going to be. He's 12 now, but the dream is still alive and kicking! Orlando is one of the places that's on top of our list to go and check out. Orlando is also known for it's high-end shopping areas. It hosts six major theme parks which will be really cool to see and experience, all of these theme parks are close to a variety of orlando hotels. I don't think I will have hard time to go and find some places to stay. Check out Orlando.com and see that they provide the most affordable prices on the widest selection of hotels, car rentals and flights throughout the greater Orlando Florida area.

In-Service
Monday was a no-work, no-school day here for us. It was Victoria Day, one of the holidays here in Canada that, most of us worker, are waiting for. Well, you know, you get paid even if your home taking it easy. Well, we didn't do anything especial that day because of the rain. As I said before, it ruined all my plans! We just stayed home, did some more house work, but most of my time was spent in front of the pc:), I even slept late because I don't have to go to work until night time the day after..Well, yesterday(tuesday) I woke up early anyways thinking it's time for Arvin to get ready for school. I totally forgot that there was NO School! It was in-service. I am not really sure the reason why they close schools once every month and call it an in-service day. As far as I know, the teachers are going on some training or something. Credit Card
When I first came to this country, the first thing hubby suggested I would do aside from driving on my own, is to establish my name to the credit bureau community. One way to do this is to apply for a credit card in a small credit limit. It is important that you will get recognized as a good payer. Companies will used this as a basis on doing business with you in the future. Check out this CreditCardSearchEngine.com..it is one of the longest running sites for Online Credit Card comparison, where it allows you to compare, search and apply for any types of credit cards. Any credit cards that gives low interest even with people who have bad or average credit report. CreditCardSearchEngine.com features offers from leading credit card issuers such as J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Citibank and leading brands Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card.

This is what my new desktop computer looks like. I ordered this yesterday online at Dell. I am tired of having only one computer at home because Arvin and John, now my sister, are competing with me to use the computer. I love to use the pc as much as them. In again tonight..
I can't believed I am going to work again tonight. Night shift for me is a killer, but I can't just quit right now because of my never-ending bills. When I first came here, I was bored to the max and told hubby I would like to work to entertain myself and to have some money of my own. His pay was enough for us that time and still have some to spare to go away. But now I wondered, why is my pay going to bills too?? I had no idea that once I started working and incoming money increases, your bills also would increase! Well, it's the anticipation that you will have money at the end of the month, so you'll think, you can afford to buy stuff ahead. Not really a good idea, but most of us do it anyways....

A phone Call
I was busy doing some entries on this blog today when the phone rings, not once, but twice in the last 2 hours! People asking for donations.. Don't you just hate it when you already denied giving donations but they still keep on insisting on giving you all these ramblings. I have a caller ID and I don't normally pick up the phone when it's an 1-800 numbers or unknown callers, but from time to time it's someone I know that uses a phone card. And plus, I don't want it ringing for awhile and let the answering machine pick it up because sometimes John is asleep. We have already two charities we patron. The Lung and Cancer Association and The Heart and Stroke Foundation not to mention my charity to my family in the Phils! I mean, I normally would tell the person on the other line (always in a nice way) that I already have my own charities and couldn't afford to give my money to another one, but for some reason, they just don't shut up! Sometimes it's very frustrating. I know it's for a good cost but if only I could, I would!!

My wasted weekend!
Yesterday was supposed to a good day at Victoria Park here. I was also planning on taking the whole gang to the park commemorating the Tulip Festival. but guess what? It was raining too! I was really looking forward to this long weekend. Imagine, me not working for 4 days! I have been off since Friday 'til Monday. That would have been a big opportunity to go out with the whole family. Sister and I went to the city on Friday. We went malling in one of the big stores in Darthmouth.
Then Saturday, the whole four of us went out to get breakfast in Truro. And on Sunday, We went indoor swimming with Arvin's friend.

Picture is a little blurry though:( so I just made it small..
I had a lot of plans on the weekend and it didn't happened and it's so annoying. I felt like I wasted a lot of time...but oh well, hopefully the weather will be nicer in the next few days..

Swimming
It was raining the time I was off work. I had been off work since friday which was exciting but to my dismay, it rained all weekend. The rain stopped sometimes, but you couldn't really plan on a long-stay outside because there are times when the rain poured hard. We went out Saturday for breakfast and went to the mall, then Sunday came and we were bored to the max! So I suggested we will go swimming indoor. Few minutes from my place and it's not that expensive to use the facility. Arvin invited his friend to come with us. This is how we celebrate the rest of the afternoon on Sunday:)

I have done some stuff inside the house but I really planned on doing some stuff outside this long weekend. It really ruined by plans. Saturday we went out early to have breakfast at one of restaurants in Truro. There wasn't a lot of people inside the restaurant because of the rain. Pig Roast

Theme: Cooked/ing
We do pig roast a lot during the summertime here in Canada. This was taken in summer of 2003. This is the only photo I found with me doing the rotating!LOL!! This pig is almost done! We started preparing the pig around 5:30am and the roast was about done around noontime. I love the taste of very slow-cooked pig roast!:)

I Love Blogging!
I have been blogging for awhile now and I do admit that I still love it! I really did made friends online and while doing this blog, it made me aware that there is another world aside from what I have seen here. What I like about blogging also is, the opportunity to get paid to blog . I had signed up with PPP (Pay Per Post) for about two months now and made money through taking some opps that best suit me and write my feedback about those opps. I was made aware of this get paid to blog thing, when most of my blogger friends started talking about it. I was fascinated to the fact that you can earn money while giving your opinion on sites. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure if it was just a scam. I tried once anyways, and they did pay me! So then, I started to take some opps and that's how I made some cash. I am able to subscribed to some ABS-CBNnow shows from the Philippines using some of my earnings from PPP. That's why I love the people behind PPP. I salute you guys! and thanks for the opportunity.

5 Lessons Learned

Theme:FIVE

This is my second photo hunt! I tried and look for a suitable photo for this week's theme but I have hard time looking for one. To my amazement, I stumbled my scrap file and found a photo of the scrap I made last year. I was hooked on digital scrapping last year together with a bunch of girls whom I only met online. I really did have fun on those sleepless nights. Anyways, here's the one I found:

This is a scrapping tag initiated by a fellow scrapper. Everybody had fun doing this tag. Here's the site where we upload our finished scraps to show off:) and comment on them.

Another Opportunity!

Yey! I have successfully joined Bloggerwave. Another site where you, as a blogger, will have the opportunity to earn some cash while blogging. How? It's very easy, submit your existing blog for approval. Normally, about 24 hours. Once it's approved, you can then start taking opportunity by giving feedbacks to advertisers with respect to their web sites, products, services, and companies. That's it! You do have to have a Paypal account, which is very easy to set up and you have to disclose your blog too. To get your disclosure policy, go to this site.

Online Shopping Deals!
Are you into shopping online? Would like to save some of your money? If so, try and check this CouponChief.com You got nothing to lose. Instead, you'll save! Who wouldn't like savings, right? They give away lots of coupon codes that you can use to purchase stuff online. They have different coupons for different stores such as Staples, Gap, Target, and other big name stores.

I started shopping online just last year. I bought my digicam online. What I like about this online shopping is, you can do it virtually anytime of the day. Same as shopping in retail stores, I found that you can take advantage of some coupons(or coupons codes) to get your stuff at a lower price. What is a coupon code? It is a series of special letters or numbers which specify a promotion or discount for a certain online store. It is the equivalent of the "printed coupon" in stores where you will redeemed it at the cashier. While online coupons are used by typing in the code when you're ready to checkout.

I like going at Best Buy. It is my one of my favourite stores. Right now, they have a lot of offers. Mother's day is coming up. And mom nowadays are pretty much hightech, so why not give her something to get her hands busy?. A lot of good deals right now. Some deals include free shipping. So no sweat!...So check out Best Buy and see what you can get mom for mother's day:)

My thoughts today and tips

I am kinda neglecting this blog nowadays. I really have been busy these days. I did our filling of taxes just in time to send it before the deadline. Although, it's not that hard, it still requires my time and effort. I am also doing all these paperwork for the rest of my family back home. I am really happy that they now have all their visas, as an immigrant!...I have been working on their applications for the last 5 years. It took them so much time to finalized everything. Now, all that hard work has paid off! I am really pleased that it's over. It's kinda tiring and there are days when I felt hopeless. Anyways, they will be here soon and I will be able to see my dad, mom, and youngest brother again:)

On the other hand, here's some tips on how to stay young:)..I found these very helpful and insightful:) Keep smiling!!!

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop," And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on.The only person who is with us our entire life, is God. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
