Little sis and snow

Little sis managed to arrived in Manila safe and sound today. Her flight was 10am from Davao, but for some reason(traffic, she said!) she missed her plane! That was a disaster! So she waited for 6 hours in the airport for the next flight, she doesn't wanna take the chance of going home, in case it will happen again. Good thing it was only the domestic flight and no major damage was done. So she's all settled in a friend's house in Manila now and ready for her big flight out. Can't wait to see her, really:) only 6 more days to go!

Here we are, the last day of March.It started snowing again this morning. I thought that the risk of snow is gone. It's so annoying coz I just washed my jeep yesterday. It was really nice yesterday and now it's this. I kinda in between of liking to have a little snow when my sister arrive but at the same time, hoping that it will go away already. It's kinda tiring after awhile, you know. But oh well, it's part of this place, i guess. I took some photos this morning on the way home.

the "gotta-have-thing"

Just my thought:)

I watched 20/20 the other day(friday), the episode was called 'enough'. It caught my attention when they were talking about branded-name stuff especially the sneaker,NIKE. People pays big bucks to just have the 'right' sneaker, it's a status symbol. How did the simple sneaker change from a canvas and rubber thing that allows you to run in comfort to today's $100-plus high fashion statement?

It began 20 years ago when Nike signed basketball superstar Michael Jordan and then made series of commercials for Nike's Air Jordan line. The ads popularized the catchphrase, "Money, it's gotta be the shoes!"

And this led to a world where many kids believe "the shoes" help stars like Jordan play so well. They consider $100-plus sneakers, even $200 sneakers a necessity. Suddenly sneakers became a status symbol, when in the past, they were just completely utilitarian things to put on your feet when you ran around the street.I guess, they have to charge more too, to pay millions a year for those superstars using their shoes and those commercials. Nike and other brands have made millions off of this ridiculous conceit.

They had open up a Nike sneaker on the show and open up another 'not-so-famous' one and compared them, it turns out, they we're the same, the box were Nike came off was really nice though, another misleading thing they'll do...

I have been shopping online for awhile now, my biggest purchase so far was my digital camera from Dell. You can find a lot of good stuff online in the comfort of your own home rather than going out. I hear ed that it's actually safer now to do that. And this is actually handy especially during those hours of holidays where the malls are crowded and plus you can shop 24 hours a day and delivered it in front of your door.

You could really get great deals online also. One of favourite store online is Dell. I love all there stuff and i actually have an account with them.I was so glad i came across Dell coupons while browsing today.It would be a great deal in a month or so for me because I am up for buying a new computer.

So for those of you who are into savings, (who aren't?)and love to get great coupons, check couponchief.com..They have different coupons for different stores such as Best Buy, Staples, Gap, Target, and other big name stores. da oi! after work today, all i did was watched the last 2 days of SMM, checked out jenny and ice's blog and comment on their entries and uploaded 1 lousy photo in my friendster site. It took me almost 3 hours sitting in front of my monitor!! i will come back later and check the rest of my pal's blogs 2night and actually blog something:)

Drug rehab

I saw "cops" today on tv. And realized how sad it is that there are a lot of people nowadays who uses drugs very badly. These officers caught people, very young people, with drugs on their hands. I am a mom, and this is one of my fears for my son. My deep sympathy to all those mom who wants nothing but good for their kids.I do not judge people who have kids who are addicted to drugs, but there are a lot of ways to help them now, ways where dreams, trust, family and HOPE are still reachable goals.Rehabilitation center is the key to helping this people get out of the bad situation.Looking for a rehab center can be very daunting experience, after all, we are not shopping for cars or new clothes.

I found this drug rehab on line. They have the great success rate of graduates leaving clean and staying clean. Their success rate is better compare to the traditional 12-step programs and other alternative methods of drug rehab. They uses a drug-free approach through the entire process. This drug rehabilitation program is intended to graduate students who are capable of getting back to their lives in a successful and independent way.

Blah blah

I had taken 4 opportunities(oops) from PPP last week(since my blog was approved), and so far, 1 just got approved by them, so i will be getting the fruit of my labour soon, hehehe. I am hoping that the other 3 will get approved too. I am really slow in getting these opps right now, kinda busy here. Cleaning the house, getting it ready for my sister's arrival. Can't wait to see her!

I just finished watching the last 3 days of Sana Maulit Muli. Oh my gosh, it's really getting interesting now! It's annoying that the weekend is here again, I'll miss that 2 days of it.

Weather has been really pleasant nowadays. Speaking of which, I grew up using Celsius (where 0 is the freezing point) as the measurement for temperatures. Philippines uses Celsius, so it's easy to remember that they always have 28 to 32 degrees Celsius over there during the day. Hubby was telling me that when he was there, he tried to open the windows around 5 o clock in the morning because it was so hot for him. He said it was around 20c. But the housemaid closed them back because she was freezing!hehehe... Imagine being use to 32c midday! Well, most often than not, friends from US,who uses Fahrenheit(where 32 is the freezing point) will get confused, I get confused, with the convertion...It would have been easier if everybody will use the same measurements.

Anyhow, our weather right now has been fabulous, when you're used to -30c/-23f all winter long. So far, it went to 12c/55f today. There were not a lot of snow in the first place, very nice winter we had. I wonder if it's gonna be really hot this summer though. Hope it will be just nice.

Make money while blogging!

A lot of people I know are still wondering what I get for blogging. I always told them that it's fun and it fills my day or weekend when there is nothing much to do. I have gathered a lot of friends while blogging too, so that itself is a big reason. Now, i found out how to take more advantage while writing a blog. TO MAKE SOME CASH!
There are a lot of ways to make money while writing a blog nowadays. If you love to write and thinking of starting one, well, now is the right time to do it. Or if have been blogging for awhile, now is the right time to earn some cash while you still blog and write the things you love. Like I said before, I was hesitant before, but since I tried it, cash is now coming my way!

These are the ways I have found to make some cash while blogging:

A one way is to participate in the growing and fun world of paid content blogging. This means that bloggers can join places like PayPerPost(PPP) to get started. They will review your blog and once approved, you can take assignments to write paid posts.As long as you disclose that you accept paid advertising, you can make a nice sum of money that way. You can make some cash or get up to $2000 a month if you are a serious blogger and depending on the popularity of your blog. At the moment, the top earner at PPP gathered a whopping $7,000+!!!!That's a great way to get paid to blog. This blog ad network is really great!

The second way is to participate in the PayPerPost affiliate program. You just add a badge (see "Get Paid to Review My Post" below) at the end of each post. When someone clicks through and completes the review, you get paid! That's it. You don't have to take any sponsorship for your posts. Just sit back and carry on blogging as usual and watch your money grow without doing anything.

Just some ramblings

It really felt like spring today. The weather was really nice since yesterday though, last week has been from -18 to -30 with the wind and then all of a sudden, it went up to +10 today. Really nice! Can't wait until all the danger of having snow again is gone, it's not that easy and fun to keep wearing jacket to get out. It would be nice to wear just shorts again, no more socks.I remember when Arvin was just really young. He wanted to go out and play in the snow with some friends, I put all his winter wears, wrapped him really good, and before we could go out, he wanted to pee! hehehehehe...thank God I don't have to do that anymore.

Arvin went to a bowling party yesterday, 7-9pm, it gave hubby and I the opportunity to have a good meal out without Arvin, so we did. It was nice not having a kid around. John and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait until sister will be here so we can do it often:)...I went out with a friend today, just window shopping, but we end up getting some stuff from the stores anyways. A lot of sales around, but did not get much.

I was chatting with the whole family back home this morning. Lil sis just arrived from Manila to spend some time with the rest of the family before coming over here. It was nice to see all of them together at home. They were all surprised because she did not tell them when she'll be home. She arrived at 10:30pm, most of them were already in bed when she knocked the door.

Well, that's all the ramblings for today:)

traveling?

Summer is almost here and it's almost time to get busy and check lovely destinations! yahoo!!! I have come across this Hotel Reservations site online. The site is very easy to navigate.I checked and reviewed their offers and so far, they have the lowest prices in town and they guarantee them.They also give special offers and special discounts. They have vacation packages that would save me tons of money. It would be nice to take Arvin to Disneyland and when I checked the price, it sounds very affordable! I did not tell him yet, gotta discuss this with hubby first.It sounds promising. But we'll see what he says first before I get too excited. But I am 80% sure we're going to Ontario this summer though, so I have checked their hotels too, and they have the great prices especially if I will book in advance. I have submitted our vacation dates at work and we are just waiting for it's confirmation(cross fingers!) and once we are sure, then i can book in advance for hotels.Hubby and I are also thinking of going to visit his native land, England, sometime, to show me where he grew up and places he knew. I would love to do that whenever possible.
Do you like traveling with a group of your friends? or even travel with a group of friends of you and your partner? Well, I was just wondering because you can go with a group of your friends to just relax on a very relaxing cruise! I have this friend, her and her hubby and 4 other couples going on a trip together. I have also checked their prices and booking in group would save you even more money. Why pay more for your accommodation and trips when you can save, and you can use your savings for buying stuff while you're away to remember that place, right?

Do you have an hour? do you wanna see the bond of brotherhood? then check this episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya! I have never cried like this since I can remember. I felt their pain and I remember my brothers in the Philippines who I miss so much. If only I can get them over as easy as that, I would. I hate to think that we're not together anymore. I miss all the happy moments we have together. I miss them so dearly.
Well, I am just crying unstopable here. So I have to stop this. Sorry about the quality of the movie, it's not that good, but hopefully you'll love it as much as I did..

THOUGHTS TODAY

I did a lot this last week, I have been working on day shift so I was home during evening w/c is great!Very productive week!I have made 7 scraps in 2 nights too! so I was really rolling!... I also made my first dollars doing this advertising for blogvertise!I would recommend this to anybody who pass by here who also love to blog. Why not earn extra cash while your blogging, right? I was hesitant at first too, but after all the testimonies of my friends here, I thought, well, why not try it? And so, the cash is now flowing my way! hehehehe....

John was hospitalized at 2 o' clock this morning because he swallowed a big piece of meat last night(I cooked stew last night and he didn't chew it well!). It got stock in his lower esophagus and have hard time pushing it down. But it wasn't a big deal, he was home at 1pm today, so thank God!

MADE MORE

Don't know what's got into me. I made more! This is highly unlikely of me. I am really tired but I was challenged with Agring's contest, so i tried and made some LO's today, but I can only come up with two. So, I have 4 out of 10 so far and the deadline is tomorrow. So i don't think I would be able to do the rest. But it was fun and I am happy with the 4 I got, even if they are really simple.

Let's go to Barcelona!

It's been my ultimate dream to spend some time to see and experience some parts of Europe especially Barcelona. It would be awesome to travel there and take a lot of photos! I am hoping and hoping really dearly, that that dream will come true, someday! Well, just for fun, I browsed the net and I came across this site and my desire to go there now grow even stronger!
