MY FAMILY AND TAGS

I would like to introduce my family to everybody, i just finished this page. They are my family, my inspiration in life, the reason why i work so hard. I had been away for a few years now from my family back in pinas and I love to go visit them one day. My bro had uploaded some photos of them and the city I grew up with, and men, what a difference!! I couldn't recognized any places there anymore.

Anyway, I had been tagged by 2 people within the last few days. They are similar tags, so I will just make it into one: it's basically listing 5 things you don't know about me, so here goes:

:: I tend to chew my nails when I am in a panic or in a deep conversation.

:: I am prohibited to wear any underwear when going to sleep,hehehe, kaya nasanay na rin ako, that's why i don't own any jammies.

:: I call my hubby, "babe" and Arvin "langgingging", and I like to bite their cheeks, but now that Arvin is a little bigger, he fights back, so now, it's just mostly hubbys.

:: I use OIL OF OLAY products for all my girlie needs, nothing else.

:: I can't keep plants in the house, they always die on me!!!

tag ko na lang sila: Agring, JCKA, Ate Bing, Emz and Kaye:)

Done!! thank you to my cousin Jenny and Ivy for the tagay! hehehe...thanks again for the visit and have a good day and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

BACKGAMMON
I have always been wondering what backgammon is. Arvin had mention it to me one time to play this game with him but i couldn't get it. It's actually one of the oldest game there is.

I kinda browsing the net and found this site today. Backgammon is actually a game for two players, played on a board consisting of 24 narrow triangles called points. The triangles alternate in color and are grouped into two, which have twelve triangles each. The halves are formed by the two opposing sides of the board. The board has a vertical band down the middle called the bar, where the checkers are placed when hit. It's really a cool game once you get going.

If you are interested, you can play it at Party Gammon, once you mastered this game, you could play for the world's first million-dollar backgammon prize pool, who knows, right?so visit them at Party Gammon and let the fun begins!!!

HOWDIE?
How's everybody nowadays?? I had been busy like crazy for the last week..work and work and work like there's no tomorrow!hahaha!! I checked my email this morning, and I have 47 unread messages, not to mention the 101 spam ones, wow! being away from the pc for a week really does pile on you. I have a lot to check, blogs to read, 2 tags to do and I have 3 pending assignments from blogvertise, i think the other 2 are already expired. Those girls who tried them, did they really work? Gimme some input naman, baka i just pour all the energy dito tapos di rin ako magkapera. Anyways, as I said, I worked a lot of overtime this week.Last sunday, I didn't turn down the offer of working kasi naman, it was doubletime rate, kaya i said yes.

The weather here is still bitterly cold, i don't particularly mind the cold, but with the wind, it feels like it's biting your skin.And I hate that. As I said before, this is a shock to the system, for me at least, coz it's been really mild before last week. But now I am used to it again. The snow is gone now, just some reminisce of it, i think it just melted not because it warmed up but because of the wind blowing it. Although, because the ground is now frozen, the snow is now turned to ice, and it's slippery like hell, especially the non-paved roads. But apart from that, everything is cool:) hehehehe...

Did not loose a lot this week, maybe just 3 lousy pounds!! ka-inis talaga. i got tempted this week, i lost my will-power, oh well, baka this week coming na naman! hahaha..

Now, nothing much to say really, just have to check everybody here, the bisdak planet, blogs and sites i normally visit. Just give me sometime to reply to all of you girls.

Thanks again for those who come and visit me, especially for those who take time to leave comments.

WEIRD

I thought we are the only one experiencing some weird weather. Apparently most of u girls in the US had it too. It has been mild eversince winter kicked in last Dec 21/22. It has been really warm, it snowed few weeks before xmas but it melted the next day, and so we didn't get any snow for christmas.It was like a mild +5deg and sometimes it goes up to +11, which is spring weather.Philippine temperature is always around +30deg(or more!) and will only go down around +27 or so during wet season or when it's early morning in dec. Still, that's really warm and I can just think of spending some time there because of this. But my family is complaining about the coldness over there, w/c is, again, weird. It might not be as cold as here, but as your body get use to the weather,you will really notice sudden changes.

Speaking of that, I kinda get used to the mild weather, when all of a sudden, we got hit with this really, really bitter cold temperature. It was a 30deg drop bellow zero from a mild +5 deg...brrrr...yesterday was really bad, and with the wind, you don't wanna go out! Unfortunately, we have to go earn some money:)and I have to drop Arvin off to school. So I really have to go out. Men, it was nasty!...makes me wonder, "what the heck am I doing here????"

SOMETHING WORTH SHARING
I thought I would share this...

As STROKE is not really uncommon anymore to most people, there are still some things that we don't know about it or some things we should need to know to recognized symptoms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters... S.T.R.
STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid 's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 P.M. , Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.
It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.
RECOGNIZING A STROKE
Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.
Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE.
T * Ask the person to TALK to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (i.e . It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just thought this would be helpful information to all who read this post. Please pass this on, a life could be save by following these very simple tasks...

A LITTLE WEEKEND
Well, it's been a few weeks now since we went to party. Most of my weekends were spent either at home and then going out to the mall with hubby and Arvin or going out with my 2 buddies playing cards! hehehehe...I am refusing to work overtime now coz I am getting fed up with work, even though the money is good. I sometimes get the mandatory overtime.Until then, I will refuse.

I almost forgot about this party yesterday.I was occupied with stuff that I am supposed to do but didn't. I normally do things as they come, but lately I have been lazy and just letting them pile on me.I hate doing this because it will just add to my stress.

Anyways, I just happened to remember the invitation on my fridge and immediately called the host and told her we were coming. And of course,because it was the day before the party, I don't know what to bring.Good thing I have some stuff in the covered, enough to make a fruit salad, very easy to do, you don;t have to cook! here it is:

After eating, they had some games planned, most of us participated, I didn;t win any price though!:(..and then, they hired a magician to entertain the kids. So overall, it was a fun day for us.here's more photos:

My weakness is really food, I have to taste everything! next thing you know, I messed up my plan! waaa!!!!I ate a lot yesterday, all those sacrifices went for nothing, Hope I can recover this week, hehehe...

here's a little video on the game, 'bring me something':

CRAVING

It's been like 2 months since I made a scrap. Scrapping was a fun hobby I found with my friends online. I was able to learned scrapping and at the same time having a good time with the girls while we were together using this site. This was where we 'show off' our finished products and leave comments as we go along. I was able to saved that moment by making this scrap with our lovely faces:)

These are the girls that helped me motivated in doing some scraps. A lot of sleepless nights, but it was worth it! Oh, how I miss these girls:)...
Anyways, I was alone for some time today and thought I would make one for old time's sake, hehehehe.. i don't have a lot of materials right now, no time to visit my favourite blogs and sites to get some more freebies. But I found this kit that I think would go with this photo of my mom posing on top of the snow.This was taken when she was here visiting us...

Update on my "plan":

I was careful with what I ate for the last 2 days now, I didn;t check yet, but hopefully, I'll see a little difference in a week or so, no hurry. I really, really tried hard last night at work, the cafeteria baked new muffins for the morning and as soon as I opened the door, all I can smell is the sweet muffin. I love her pineapple muffin, I always ordered this, but not this morning, I was really proud about that! LOL

WEIGHT AND WAITING

I am now in my early 30s and I realized that I have gained around 25lbs over 10 years and that's a lot compare to what they say that on average, you will gain 10 lbs every decade, so something need to be done! waaaa!!! Right now, especially after the holidays, is my heaviest yet. It's like the same weight when I carried Arvin. Now all I carry is FAT!!!For me, motivation to stay healthy or losing those weight comes in many forms. From the tightening of my favorite jeans to actually buying new jeans and of course, the not buying jeans to wait for the losing of this weight. That's why I don't have a lot of clothes coz I wanna "wait". But I have been waiting too long now.I compared my picture of 8 years ago and now, and found a really big, big difference.

I am a serious eater my whole life. Living here in the western world, just made it worst. Food everywhere! When you go and visit a friend, there's always a bunch of food on the table, enough to feed an army. And of course, I have this: "don't insult your friend's cooking" habit and will just eat everything.

I am going to make this year my year! hehehe If I can, I will update every detail here,

this is me and my boy, 8 years ago, super skinny me. this is gonna be my inspiration to come down to least this weight(a big good luck to me!!!)

and this is me right now!waaa!!

INTRO

I have been blogging using Friendster for past year now. I kinda like it, but because of user demand, I am now tempted to transfer here.

I am currently here in Nova Scotia, Canada, some people have never heard that this place existed, I think. At least I never did, until I met my hubby 14 years ago. I am now married to him for 10 years and I have a wonderful, energetic boy. I kinda like this place now, a little bit on the country side, but the big city is only an hour away. There is nothing much to do here, but hubby and I both work full time so it's not really a big deal to me now. And on the weekend, i prefer to just stay home anyways and sit down infront for my pc. I had a little hobby too(scrapping) w/c i started in the middle of last year. I scrapped now and then if I get bored. Every summer, we go out for a long drive and find some camping ground to hang out and just to get away from the house for a few days.

Well, that's it for now, it's kinda long na.
I will just post this slideshow again(my last entry at friendster)....so you'll get some idea of what we look like, lol:)

I was able to ask some help from a friend to get me started on this site. I did have an account here but it was like, a million years ago:) I was thinking of moving here, just coz, most of my new-found friends doesn't have an account at friendster. I am still learning all the codes here and stuff though but eventually, i will get it(hopefully) i only need some time. So I would like to thank Ivy for getting me started here. I met her online at Bisdak Planet, such a nice lady:)
